The following animals were rescued from a neglect case. All animals involved in the case have been rehabilitated and treated and have been given the all clear. They are now seeking forever homes
Fish & Aquatic animals
These animals often are neglected with good intentions and require a lot more care than people realize. Before adopting one of these pets, knowledge of the nitrogen cycle and basic fish tank care is required along with basic knowledge on the species needs and daily requirements. Tanks and habitats must be set up and cycled prior to adoption! If you are interested in learning, you can always contact us!
Comet and Common Goldfish
Both Comet and Common goldfish grow to be 14+ inches and can live 30-40 years. They are big waste producers and require heavy filtration, often double that of their tank size. They do best on bare bottom or sandy tanks without any live plants or rocks they can eat or choke on. They do not require any heaters. Priority will be given to those who have a pond or prior experience with keeping large fish. An aquarium or indoor set up of at least 55 gallons is required to house them in winter |

Axolotls
Axolotls are a type of salamander that can be wonderful pets! They are completely aquatic which means they do not need or use any kind of land. Axolotls need at least a 20 gallon tank for a single individual and another 10 gallons for each added. They cannot be housed with any other animals or creatures other than other axolotls that are of a similar size. Axolotls tend to eat everything they can fit into their mouth so everything in their enclosure must be larger than their head or small enough for them to safely eat without harming them. This means any small rocks or substrate is a big no no. Recommended substrates are very fine sand, tile, or just a bare bottom tank. They eat live earthworms every two days and require a temperature of 60-68°F at all times. They prefer a soft flowing filter and low light. The adoption fee for an axolotl is 15$ |

small rodents and mamMALS
Small animals but no small needs! Don't be fooled by their size, many of these animals require lots of space to run, play, hide, and sleep! While many of the cages local pet shops sell are cute, they unfortunately are nothing close to adequate for these cute pets so many of the them end up stressed, temperamental, sick, or aggressive due to poor housing. As a result, many are abandoned or given away without their real potential as wonderful companions ever being realized!
To adopt one of these animals, prior knowledge and experience keeping them in species appropriate housing is not required but is preferred. If you have any questions about proper care or housing and would like to know more or if you would like to fill out an adoption application feel free to email us!

Fancy Rats
Fancy rats are the most common breed of domesticated rat kept as pets. Rats are extremely intelligent animals that can learn tricks, respond to their name, and even laugh when they are tickled! Unlike hamsters which are solitary animals and require their own cages, rats are very social animals and bond with not only other rats but their humans very closely. Because of their social nature, a minimum of two of the same gender must be adopted at a time. All of our rescued rats are held until 6 months old to evaluate temperament and ensure they are not aggressive before rehoming. The fee to adopt a rat is 10$ |
